- Can I have real Crittall steel doors?
- We can supply and fit genuine Crittall Fendor steel systems where a listed building or specific brief demands them — but they have poorer U-values, and need repainting every 5–7 years. We advise honestly on the trade-off.
- How authentic does the aluminium look?
- At three paces you would not tell them apart from steel. The 18mm muntins, matte-black finish and grid proportions are drawn from measured Crittall drawings. Only if you tap the frame do you hear the difference.
- Are they thermally efficient?
- Yes — 1.4 W/m²K on a fully glazed unit. Original steel Crittall managed around 4.0 W/m²K, which is why every listed-building steel door is fitted with secondary glazing. Ours don't need it.
