Patio Doors — London & the Home Counties

Signature detail

Anti-lift bolts

The failure mode most homeowners never think about: poorly specified sliders can be levered upward off the running track from outside in seconds. Every patio door we fit carries anti-lift bolts at head and cill that engage automatically when the door is locked — the door stays on the track under attack.

Overview

The everyday slider — a 2- or 3-pane inline patio door that opens the garden view without the concertina opening of a bifold or the oversized panes of a lift-and-slide. The right specification for terraces, coastal homes and rear elevations where the view matters more than the opening.

Specification

Thermally-broken aluminium or six-chamber uPVC · precision stainless rollers · Q-lon weather seals · A-rated argon glazing · anti-lift hook locking

01

Effortless Everyday Opening

One-handed glide on precision stainless rollers — the door of choice for a family that opens and closes it twice a day rather than twice a year.

02

Slim Aluminium or Warm uPVC

Choose aluminium for the slimmest sightline and colour-fast finish, or uPVC for a warmer touch and familiar frame profile. The mechanism is the same either way.

03

2- or 3-Pane Configuration

One sliding, one fixed for a 2-pane; one sliding, two fixed for a 3-pane run up to 5m. Bigger openings step up to a slim-frame slider.

04

PAS 24 Anti-Lift Locking

Hook-and-shootbolt multi-point locking, anti-lift bolts to stop leaves being levered off the track — the security a mid-range slider often skips.

05

Flush Threshold Available

Weathered sill as standard or a low-profile flush threshold for barrier-free access from tile to terrace.

Common questions

Practical answers.

Everything homeowners ask us about patio doors — survey, lead times, guarantees and coverage.

What's the difference between a patio door and a sliding door?+

Both slide. "Patio door" is the traditional 2- or 3-pane inline slider up to around 5m — the practical everyday choice. "Sliding door" in our range refers to the premium slim-frame system with 20mm interlocks and panes up to 3m tall. Same principle, different scale and sightline.

Aluminium or uPVC patio doors?+

Aluminium for the slimmest sightline, any-RAL finish and a 20-year colour guarantee. uPVC for a warmer feel, a warmer feel and a focused colour palette. Same rollers and locks either way.

Can the slider be on either side?+

Yes — sliding leaf on the left or on the right, chosen at survey to suit the room layout. On a 3-pane run the slider is normally in the centre, opening either side.

Are they secure?+

Yes when fitted to PAS 24. The critical detail is anti-lift bolts — poorly specified sliders can be levered off the track from outside; ours can't.
