Practical answers.
Everything homeowners ask us about aluminium doors — survey, lead times, guarantees and coverage.
Are aluminium doors more secure than uPVC?+
The base door is stronger structurally, and both are fitted with the same PAS 24 multi-point locking and 3-star cylinders. In practical terms both meet or exceed the standards insurers require.
Do aluminium doors need painting?+
Never. A Qualicoat Class 2 powder coat carries a 20-year colour-fast guarantee. Wipe down with warm soapy water twice a year and it stays like the day it was fitted.
Can I have dual-colour — different inside and out?+
Yes, across the range. Anthracite grey outside with a soft white inside is the most-requested combination in the London market this year.
Are aluminium doors cold in winter?+
Modern thermally-broken aluminium hits 1.2 W/m²K on a glazed set — indistinguishable from a solid wall of the same era. The cold-alu-frame problem was solved thirty years ago.
