The sunburst gable
A vertical glazed end wall rising uninterrupted to the ridge apex, patterned with a radiating sunburst bar detail. Structurally it's the trickiest of the classic conservatory shapes — the entire roof load lands on the gable and side eaves — and specifying it demands an engineer-calc'd aluminium ridge. It's what turns a garden room into a room you can't quite forget.
Overview
The most dramatic conservatory silhouette we build. A vertical glazed gable rising to a ridge, with an internal cathedral-style vaulted ceiling. On the right elevation, and with the right glass, it turns a garden room into an event.
Full-Height Glazed Gable
The end wall glazes right up to the ridge — no dropped facade, no top-hung roof panel. The room fills with sky.
Cathedral Vaulted Ceiling
Inside, the roof reads as a cathedral vault — no ceiling in the traditional sense, just glass and rafters up to the apex.
Sunburst Detailing
A radiating sunburst bar pattern in the gable is a period-correct detail that ages brilliantly.
Solar-Control Roof Glass
Neutral- or blue-tint self-cleaning solar glass keeps the room usable through summer without visibly tinting the sky.
Structural Aluminium Ridge
A deep structural aluminium ridge beam carries the roof without any interior tie-bars — the vault stays clean.

Practical answers.
Everything homeowners ask us about gable-end conservatories — survey, lead times, guarantees and coverage.
Is a gable-end conservatory suitable for a bungalow?+
It's often the best choice — the vertical gable makes the small footprint feel large and the vaulted ceiling turns it into the tallest room in the house.
Does it get too hot in summer?+
Not with the right glass. Modern neutral-tint solar-control units reject up to 78% of solar heat while transmitting 68% of light — you feel the sky, not the heat.
Can I have Georgian bars in the gable?+
Yes, or a sunburst radiating pattern, or a plain full-glass gable. All three work; we advise at survey based on the era of the host building.
Is the ridge visible inside?+
Yes, as a structural aluminium beam running the length of the roof — either powder-coated to match the frames or specified as a feature element.
