Matched ironmongery

A front door only reads right when the numerals, letterplate, doorknocker, handle, escutcheon and spy-viewer are drawn from the same family and the same finish. We supply the whole set as one, from six curated ranges — polished brass, brushed nickel, chrome, black, antique bronze and matte gold.

Overview

The single most valuable retrofit for kerb appeal — and the most-photographed door on any street. Composite, aluminium or painted uPVC, in every classic colour, with matched period ironmongery and side-light or fanlight options to suit the age of the property.

Specification

Composite 44mm timber core, aluminium 70mm profile or six-chamber uPVC · 3-star TS 007 anti-snap cylinder · Yale multi-point hook locking · laminated inner glazing

Common questions

Practical answers.

Everything homeowners ask us about front doors — survey, lead times, guarantees and coverage.

Composite, aluminium or uPVC front door — which is best?+

Composite for period homes where you want a painted-timber look with modern security and thermals. Aluminium for contemporary homes and slim sightlines. uPVC where a clean, familiar frame profile suits the elevation. All three carry the same PAS 24 security.

How secure is a good front door?+

The critical specification is a TS 007 3-star anti-snap cylinder, PAS 24 multi-point locking, laminated inner glazing on any side lights, and a reinforced sash. All four together are what insurers ask for and what a burglar will walk away from.

Can I match my front door to a Farrow-and-Ball colour?+

Yes — Hague Blue, Downpipe, Card Room Green, Studio Green, Railings and many others are stocked as composite finishes. Any specific RAL or F&B colour can be sprayed to order on aluminium.

How long does a front door replacement take?+

A single day on site — remove old door, prepare reveal, fit new door and frame, seal, test locks, brief the client. Total lead time from order (including manufacture) is 6–8 weeks.

Do I need Building Regs approval for a front door replacement?+

No — a like-for-like replacement is covered under our CERTASS registration. We handle the certificate and it lands in your postbox 2–3 weeks after fitting.
