- A conservatory is predominantly glazed — walls and roof. An orangery has substantial brick piers or columns, a flat perimeter roof with a central glazed lantern, and reads as a room rather than a glasshouse. Orangeries tend to feel more integrated with the main house.
- How long does it take to build?
- A typical conservatory takes 6–10 weeks from signed order to handover, with 1–3 weeks on site. Orangeries and larger P-shape builds run 10–14 weeks. Planning, if needed, adds 6–8 weeks upfront.
